Obituary of Dorothy E. Hockenhull
Dorothy E. Hockenhull, 92, of Peabody, died early Friday morning at the Rosewood Nursing Center, Peabody after an 8 month illness. She was born in Peabody on July 8, 1914, the daughter of the late Walter and Etta (Sabean) Hockenhull and was a lifelong resident of Peabody.
She was first employed at the former CBS Hytron Company in Danvers. She later worked at the former Danvers Bleachery in Peabody for 25 years and then at the Morgan Memorial Goodwill Store. She retired after working for 10 years at the Clayman Shoe Company in Salem.
She was an active member of ST. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Peabody where she was a member for over 50 years on St. Paul’s Altar Guild . She also was a member of the Edith I. Cogan League of St. Paul’s Church.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Ruth Hemeon, Edna Reily and Helen Landry.
A visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody facility. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by Services in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 12 Washington St., Peabody, MA 01960 in her memory.
