Obituary of Jane F Gould

Jane F. (Lovett) Gould, 91, of Peabody, died peacefully Monday, March 16 surrounded by her loving family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Lloyd F Gould with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. Jane was born and grew-up in Lynn, daughter of the late Russell and Gertrude (Nicholson) Lovett. She attended Lynn Classical High School. She moved to Peabody in 1957 and was a resident for most of her life, having spent 10 years in Naples, FL before returning to Peabody in 2002. Jane waitressed at her sister’s restaurant, the original Rolly’s in Lynn, before retiring in 1992. For 25 years she served everyday folks breakfast, lunch and dinner. She was a great conversationalist who loved people and politics. Even in recent years, she was an active citizen, ever present at the polling places with her grandchildren holding signs for her son. Jane had a bigger than life personality and a cross generational following among nieces, nephews, godchildren, neighbors and family friends that was decades in the making. She made everyone feel they were the most important person in the world, because they were to her.
