Obituary of Thomas M. Whitten

Thomas M. Whitten, 55, of Peabody, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, at his residence. Thomas was born in Lynn, MA, on March 10, 1965, son of Thomas D. & Carol (Beaton) Whitten. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Technical High School. Thomas enjoyed his career as a machinist at the Straumann Group in Andover . He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to go deep sea fishing with his father and his nephew, Christopher. He also enjoyed walking local nature trails, summer cookouts, and above all, spending time with his family. He deeply cherished time spent with his loved ones, especially his two daughters, Cassandra and Danielle. He will be forever missed by all those who were lucky enough to know him. In addition to his loving parents, he is survived by his daughters, Cassandra and Danielle Whitten; his longtime companion Jean O’Neil; his loving sister Sharon (Whitten) Nicosia and her husband John; his niece Jennifer (Nicosia) Chester and family; his nephew Christopher Nicosia; his uncle William Beaton and wife Diane; his uncle William Whitten and wife Joanne; and numerous others. Funeral services will be private due to the current social situation. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for contributions to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
