Obituary of John K. Hantzopoulos

John K. Hantzopoulos, 83, of Peabody, passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 25, at the NSMC-Salem Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Irene (Giannopoulos) Hantzopoulos. John was born in Oichalia, Messinia, Greece, on June 18, 1936, son of the late Kosta and Paraskevi (Mihos) Hantzopoulos. Prior to retiring, John had worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, working on his house, and going fishing when he was able to. John will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Besides his loving wife, Irene, he is survived by his children, Veve Giannopoulos and her husband Fotis of NH, Kosta Hantzopoulos and his partner Kim Doran of Peabody, Anthony Hantzopoulos and his wife Nicole of Peabody; his grandchildren, Niko and his wife Tori, Christo, Dimitri, Yianni, Anthony, Sirena, John and Andrew; his great-grandchildren, Anastasia, and Katerina; his siblings, Barbara, Despina, Lana, Nikki, and Sophia, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Peter and Antoni. In accordance with the CDC, the State of Massachusetts and the local health department, funeral services for John will be privately held.
