Obituary of Maria C. Silva

Peabody – Maria C. (Alves) Silva 87, beloved wife of the late Manuel C. Silva, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Salem Hospital. Born and raised in Sao Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Mariano A. and Encarnacao (Alves) Raposo. She came to the United States many years ago settling in Peabody where she has since resided. Mrs. Silva had been employed by Fishery Products in Danvers until the time of her retirement. Prior to that she had worked for New England Sportswear in Peabody. A parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody, she was also a member of the Holy Ghost Society. Maria enjoyed cooking for her family and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She also enjoyed making home made wine. Most of all, Maria cherished time spent with her family especially her grandson and great granddaughter. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa M. Silva of Peabody, her son, Charles Silva of Peabody, her grandson, Jesse P. Silva, great granddaughter, Lacey A. Silva, her sister, Maria Oliveira of St. Lucia, FL, several nieces, nephews and cousins, her pet cat, “Smokey” and pet dogs, “Snoopy” and “Baby Girl”. She was also pre-deceased by her son, Hino Silva and by many brothers and sisters. ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral services were private.
