Obituary of George P. Gauthier
George P. Gauthier, 75, of Salem, died Thursday evening at Union Hospital in Lynn following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Adele (Cantone) Gauthier with whom he shared over 53 years of marriage.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ernestine (Gagne) Gauthier. He was a lifelong resident of Salem and attended Salem Public Schools.
Mr. Gauthier was a self employed builder who built houses throughout the North Shore.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Dorothy Gauthier of Felton, Delaware, a daughter and son-in-law, Nina and Michael Bridgman of Salem, a brother and sister-in-law, Maurice and Velora Gauthier of Ocala, Florida, and is also survived by three loving grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Wilfred and Jean Gauthier, and Theresa McShay.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
