Obituary of June A. Andersen
June A. Andersen, 73, of Southbridge and formerly of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, at the Southbridge Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lillian (Brooks) Deveney.
June grew up in Saugus, Massachusetts, and graduated from Saugus High School. She went on to receive her BS degree from Salem State College. Throughout her life, June lived in Salem, Danvers and Peabody and has spent the last few years living in Southbridge, Massachusetts.
June was a Purchasing Manager for the City of Peabody for over 20 years before she retired. She was also a long-time member and past president of the Massachusetts Federation of Business and Professional Women. This is an organization that supports working women to help achieve their career goals, attain higher pay and establish rewarding careers.
June is survived by her son, Brian Andersen, and daughter-in-law, Laura, of Sturbridge, and her beloved 5 grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Scott, Krista, Alex, and Tim. She was predeceased by her daughter, Kim Kocur, and her sister, Nancy Dolan.
June will be cremated. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at a later date.
