Obituary of James A Letarte
James A Letarte, 86, of Peabody, passed away on Wednesday after a brief illness. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Margaret (McCadden) Letarte.
He leaves his wife Carole with whom he shared over 52 years of marriage, his two sons Daniel Letarte of Georgetown and Jeffrey Dailey of Conway, NH as well as his brother Gilbert Letarte of Salem. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and their families as well as his grandchildren, Ryan and Sean Letarte and Christina and Stefania Wowk. He was predeceased by his daughter Donna Dailey Wowk and his son Richard Dailey.
A humorous and witty man, James worked at Cressy Dockham of Salem and Wetterau Foods of Andover as a shipper until his retirement. Among his interest were watching his grandchildren play sports. James was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and took pride in helping others. He will be missed by his many friends in Florida as well.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday July 8, 2020 at St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
