Obituary of Margaret Coleman

Peabody – Margaret M. (Wilkins) Coleman 92, beloved wife of the late Daniel Coleman, died Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Lane) Wilkins. She graduated from St. John the Baptist School in Peabody and attended Boston University. Mrs. Coleman had been employed as a transcriptionist for Dr. Lawrence’s office in Swampscott. She had also worked at the General Electric Company in Lynn, Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Peabody and Parker Brothers in Salem. A resident of Lynn for almost forty years before returning to Peabody, she was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody and was a member of the church’s Sodality. She also attended St. Pius V Church in Lynn where she was an active member of the parish community. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Darsney and her husband, John of Salem, two sons, Daniel Coleman and his partner, Paula Flaherty of Groveland and Kevin Coleman and his wife, Ann of Livonia, MI, a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Coleman of Milford, NH, seven grandchildren, Michael Coleman, Ben Glaser, Joseph Coleman, Jason Walters, Jessica Darsney, Caroline Darsney and Elizabeth Darsney, nine great grandchildren as well as many cousins and extended family members whom she dearly loved. She was also the mother of the late John Coleman. Her funeral services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody. Contributions may be made in her memory to St. John the Baptist Church, Building Fund, 17 Chestnut St., Peabody, MA 01960.
