Obituary of Dena Walter

Dena (Mandragouras) Walter, 93, of Danvers and formerly of Peabody, died Thursday evening at the Briarwood Healthcare center in Needham following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Agnes (Batsinelas) Mandragouras. She was raised and educated in Peabody. Dena was employed as an office manager at the former Almy’s clothing store in Danvers and Lechmere’s in Danvers. Dena is survived by her son, George Walter and his partner, Vanessa Layne of Newton and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, John, Theodore, Georgia, and Cynthia Mandragouras, Mary Tillas, Helen Nixon, Olga Panousis, and Rose Stathopoulos A private family Funeral Service was held at the family lot in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
