Obituary of Margaret A. "Peggy" O'Neill

Margaret A. Peggy O’ Neill, 76, of 79 Franklin St., died Friday evening at the Union Hospital in Lynn following a long illness. Born in Peabody, she was a lifelong resident of the city. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Margaret (Keaveney) O’ Neill. She attended St. John’ s Grammar School and graduated from St. John’ s High School. She was an active communicant at St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody, and a dedicated homemaker and mother, and loved being around her family and friends. She is survived by: one son and daughter-in-law, James & Erin Apostolos of Peabody; two daughters and a son-in-law, Elaine M. Walsh of Salem and Lisa A. & Brian Mellan of Rutland, MA; one sister, Hannah Pesaturo of Cranston, RI; 16 grandchildren, and three great-grandsons, and a dear, lifelong friend and fiancee of her late son Michael Apostolos, Carolyn Rauco of Middleton, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons, Edward J. Apostolos and Michael J. Apostolos, and her brothers, John O’ Neill, Eugene O’ Neill, Richard O’ Neill, James O’ Neill, and Francis O’ Neill. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Tuesday in the Cahill-Brodeur facility at 20 Church St., of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, from 5 to 8 P.M. prior to cremation. Urn burial will be in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem, immediately after Mass.
