Obituary of Virginia M. Bettencourt

Virginia Bettencourt, age 92, a resident of Rosewood Nursing Home died peacefully on April 28, 2020 of Covid 19. She was the beloved wife of John Bettencourt. Born in Beverly, Mass on May 9, 1927, she was the daughter of Pasquale and Dionesia Navarra. Virginia was raised in Beverly, attended Beverly Schools and graduated from Beverly High School. She was employed by GTE Sylvania in Danvers, Mass. Virginia’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She leaves two children, Donna Mohan and her husband, Jerry, of Andover and John Bettencourt of North Andover, as well as grandchildren, Tara Mohan of Melrose, Jerry Mohan of Haverhill, and Samantha Driscoll of Derry, NH. Virginia was also the sister of Malva Lindgren, Olga Bento, Josephine Sullivan, and Minnie Romani. While a resident of Rosewood Nursing Home, Virginia brought joy, laughter, and countless smiles to the residents, staff, and visitors of Rosewood by playing the piano for them. She was so proud of the nickname that she earned… The Piano Lady. Due to public health circumstances, all services are private. Those who wish, may make a donation to a First Responders fund or to a food bank which helps individuals impacted by Covid 19.
