Obituary of Joanne E Atkinson

Joanne E (Danilecki)(Lee) Atkinson, 73, of Beverly, died early Wednesday morning April 29 at the Lahey Burlington Medical Intensive Care Unit due to her congestive heart failure and complications from the Covid-19 virus. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Lee and William Atkinson. Born in Newburyport, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Woodruff) Danilecki. She was raised and educated in Newburyport, where she attended Saint Mary’s Annunciation Catholic School for 12 years and then attended college at Burdett College. She then married her first husband Richard, they resided in Newburyport. After losing Rich, she then moved to Danvers about a year later, she met Bill and they married shortly after, she resided in Danvers for 33 years and has lived in Beverly for the past 3 years. Joanne was a secretary at the former United Shoe in Beverly for many years before she retired. She enjoyed dancing, knitting, traveling, and watching and rooting on the Boston Red Sox, listening to Elvis and country music as well. She loved her cats dearly. Her favorite endeavor though was spending time with her family and sharing in all their activities. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who adored her family and will be missed very much. Joanne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and David Dziadyk of Salem, Ma. Her beloved great granddaughter, Kaedynce Kauth. Her 7 grandchildren, Nichole Parsons, Brandon Dziadyk, Krystina Creel, and Matthew, Melany, Mike, and John Atkinson. Her sister, Kathy Moore and her husband Phil of Geneva, NY. Her stepson, Paul Atkinson and his wife Bunny of Middleton, she was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Dow of Newburyport, Ma. A private family service was held with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Salem next to her beloved William. In Lieu of flowers, please contact Nichole to donate to Joanne’s fund.
