Obituary of Frederick S. Hersey

Frederick S. Hersey, 80, of West Peabody, died Wednesday at the Salem Hospital after a short illness. He was the husband of Josephine M. (Corso) Hersey. He was born and raised in Winthrop, the son of the late Harold S. and Frances (Callaghan) Hersey and had resided in Peabody for the past 43 years. He had been employed in the Banking Industry for 40 years retiring as a Manager of the former Shawmut Bank in April of 1991. Mr. Hersey was a veteran of WW 11 serving in the US Army. Surviving him besides his wife are seven children and their spouses, Michael F. and Jackie Hersey of Salem, NH, Brian and Cindy Hersey of Burlington, Scott E. and his fiancé, Charlene, Elizabeth F. and Brad Chaffee and Suzanne M. and Stephen Mearls all of Billerica, Paul J. Hersey and Derorah A. Hersey both of Peabody, 2 brothers, Henry Hersey of Wilmington, MA and Donald Hersey of Cape Cod, two sisters, Evelyn Keegan of Texas and Jean Oliver of Ft. Collins, Colorado, his beloved grandchildren, Mandy, April, Matthew, Kasey, Dalton, Valerie and Sarah and his great grandchild, Aidan and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’s Church, West Peabody at 10:00 AM Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
