Obituary of Alexander Mavroules
Alexander Mavroules, 96, of Peabody, died peacefully Tuesday evening. He was the devoted husband of Paraskevi (Anthanasopoulos) Mavroules.
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late James and Stavroula (Zoubaneas) Mavroules. He was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School.
Alexander first worked at the West Lynn Creamery for many years, and then was a co-owner of Steve’s Lounge in Peabody with his brothers for over 30 years before retiring.
Alexander was a loving, caring, and a gentleman. He took pride in putting his family first. He was always willing to help others in need. He was an avid walker at the North Shore Mall and could be seen socializing with friends. He also enjoyed long rides and the sunshine as well.
He is survived by his son, James Mavroules of Danvers, his daughters, Stella Mavroules and her husband Stephen of Beverly and Sophie and her husband John Henry of Hamilton, his beloved three grandchildren, Arriel, Alexander, and Stephen, his great grandson Dash and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, George, Michael, Charlie, and Nicholas Mavroules and Penelope Scangas.
A private funeral will be held on Tuesday with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Hogan Regional Center, 450 Maple St, Danvers, MA 01923.
