Obituary of William A. Mahoney

William A. Mahoney, 47, of Monroe, North Carolina and formerly of Peabody and East Boston, died unexpectedly Monday morning at his home. He was the loving husband Karen Gatti. Born in Salem, he was the son of Rose (Bertoldi) Mahoney of Peabody and the late Daniel Mahoney. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1977. He was a sheet metal worker who worked throughout the North Shore and at the General Electric River Works Plant in Lynn. He also enjoyed doing woodworking. Besides his loving wife and beloved mother, he is survived by two sons, Jason and Nathan Mahoney, both of Salem, a brother, Greg Mahoney of Peabody, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda and Walter Fletcher of Fremont, NH and Janet Fonzo of Beverly. His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM in St Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9:00 until 10:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody Facility, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1 Margin St., Peabody, MA 01960.
