Obituary of Nancy J Leslie

Nancy J. (Thyberg) Leslie, age 73, beloved wife of recently deceased Richard Leslie, died peacefully on June 10, 2020 at her home in Peabody. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Clarence (Casey) and Shirley (Reagan) Thyberg. She grew up in Lynn and graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1964. She continued her education at Westfield State College and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in teaching. Mrs. Leslie went on to teach not only in Lynn, but also at St Johns School in Peabody. She enjoyed 56 years together and many trips, especially to Bermuda, with her late husband of 50 years Richard. She also supported many charities alongside him. She was devoted in her faith and was an active parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody where she had previously taught Pre-Kindergarten. She will be remembered as a caring, generous person who was always willing to help others, and was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her sister Barbara Duffy of Beverly; a son Michael Leslie of Celebration, FL; a sister-in-law, Norene Donovan of Danvers; two brothers-in-law, Jack Leslie of Peabody, and Charles Leslie of Salem, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late John Thyberg of Lynn. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lynn to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. All are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing as well.
