Obituary of Amelia "Millie" (Dunaski) Pacak

Amelia “Millie” (Dunaski) Pacak, 82, of Peabody, died Sunday at the Radius HealthCare Center in Danvers surrounded by her family after a long illness. She was the wife of retired Peabody Postman Ted Pacak with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. She was born in Salem on November 19, 1923 the daughter of the late Frank and Magdalena (Gadzala) Dunaski and had resided in Peabody all her life. She was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1941 . Mrs. Pacak had worked in Food Preparation in Cafeterias for nearly 40 years, having worked in Beverly Hospital and later at Bishop Fenwick High School and finally in the Peabody School System prior to her retirement 17 years ago. She had been very active in the former St. Joseph Polish Church in Peabody where she was a president of St. Joseph Ladies Guild and served as an Eucharistic Minister for many years. She was very artistic and taught quilting at the Peter Torigian Senior Center in Peabody. She also enjoyed Bridge and making Arts and Crafts. Surviving her besides her husband are two daughters and a son-in-law, Janet Pacak of Peabody and Roberta and Michael Anderson of Andover, MA and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late John “Jack” Pacak and was the last of her family of six brothers who predeceased her. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Mem. Park, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Haven from Hunger, 72 Wallis St., Peabody or to Peter Torigian Life Center, 75 Central St., Peabody, MA 01960 in her memory.
