Obituary of Soterios A. Angelopoulos

Lynn – Soterios A. “Terry” Angelopoulos 92, beloved husband of the late Dorothy A. (Mavrakos) Angelopoulos and father of the late Dawn Angelopoulos, died Saturday, July 4, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Peabody, he was the son of the late Anthony and Evangeline (Bentas) Angelopoulos. He graduated from Peabody High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Suffolk University in Boston. An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Mr. Angelopoulos had been employed for many years as an office manager for Stadium Oil in Peabody until the time of his retirement. A longtime resident of Lynn, he was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody. He had a heart of gold, a young spirit and touched the hearts of all who knew him. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Surviving him are three daughters, Gail Amico of Lynn, Sharon Anderson and her husband, George of Rowley and Sheryl Sholds and her husband, Richard of Peabody, a son, Mark Angelopoulos and his wife, Diane of Beverly, a son-in-law, Michael Cusack of Boxford, twelve grandchildren, Kristen, Brandon and Brent Amico, Devin and Brianna Anderson, Kayla, Michael and Kristina Sholds and Mikayla, Kylie, Alexis and Connor Cusack, his goddaughter, Donna Dube of Topsfield and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Constance Ahearn, Gregory Angelopoulos, John Angelopoulos, Elizabeth Vorrias and Marcella Corbett. Visiting hours will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Friday, July 10, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. His funeral service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Terry’s memory to: Light of Dawn, P.O. Box 144, West Boxford, MA 01885.
