Obituary of Barbara J Royer

Barbara J (Pouliot) Royer, 76, of Peabody, died peacefully Wednesday July 8 at her home surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Richard A Royer with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Dolor and Connie (Dizeo) Pouliot. She was raised and educated in Springfield and upon her marriage to Richard, moved to Peabody to raise her family. Once her family was grown, she and her husband moved to New York. They returned to Peabody in 2003 to enjoy their golden years and be closer to their children and grandchildren. Since 2003 she enjoyed going to the Torigian Community Life Center and socializing with all the seniors at the Peabody Council on Aging. In her earlier years she enjoyed playing tennis and sailing with her husband. Barbara is survived by her devoted three sons, Michael, Joseph, and Christopher Royer, and by her beloved 9 grandchildren, Patrick, Courtney, Tucker, Katryna, Evan, Joshua, Danielle, Nicholas, and Ashley and by her great granddaughter, Andrea. She was predeceased by her brother, Ronald Pouliot. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 3:00 pm until 7:00 PM. All attendees are required to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing as well. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Torigian Community Life Center, 79 Central St, Peabody, MA 01960.
