Obituary of Maria A. Silva

Maria A. Silva, 59, passed away early Wednesday morning at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, following a lengthy battle with breast cancer. She was the beloved wife of Manuel Q. Silva. Born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of Antonio Cardoso and the late Maria (DaSilva) Cardoso. Maria had worked as a stock keeper for the Analogic Corp. in Peabody, for 29 years, prior to her retirement. She was also a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody. In Maria’s spare time she enjoyed crochet, cooking, baking extravagant desserts and cake decorating. She loved to entertain for family gatherings and spend quality time with her family, especially her three grandchildren who adored her. Maria was a one-of-a-kind person, always knowing what she wanted but always thinking about others around her. Her peaceful presence and kind spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Maria’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Lahey Medical Center, for the care and compassion they provided to her and her family. Besides her loving husband Manuel, She is survived by two sons and their wives, Chris and Kristin Silva, Derrick and Ashley Silva; her grandchildren, Jayden, Kaleb, and Theia Silva; her aunts and uncles, Manuel Antonio Silva and his wife Conceicao, Alvarina Boga, Conceicao Dias Furtado, Odelta Dias Costa, and her large and loving extended family. She was predeceased by many aunts and uncles. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 24 from 4 – 8 P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home. 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
