Obituary of Rose M Ball

Rose M. (Corriveau) Ball, 80, of Peabody, passed peacefully on Friday July 24th at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was the loving and faithful wife of the late Hollis H. Ball who passed this past Easter Sunday and with whom she shared over 56 years of marriage. Born in Salem, she was the caring daughter of the late Philip and Cecile (Begin) Corriveau. She was raised and educated in Salem Public Schools. She has lived in Peabody for the past 55 years. Rose first worked at Sylvania in Salem then proudly worked 24 years in the Peabody School Department driving the food truck with her best friend Louise Chase for 10 years and later as the Head Cook with her beloved friend Carol MacAfee. She liked being known as the “lunch lady” because she loved feeding people. Rose enjoyed weekends in Atlantic City and Foxwoods with her husband and friends. Rose loved dancing, parties, gatherings with friends, playing bingo and hitting the slot machines. Rose went on cruises to Alaska, Bermuda and the Caribbean. She also enjoyed taking girl trips with her daughter to Cape Cod, NYC, Canada and Aruba. Rose is survived by her loving daughter and devoted son-in-law, Charlene and Robert “Bobby” McKenzie of Peabody, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Clint Newell of Peabody, her cousin Lillian “Cookie” Aborjaily of Salisbury, family in North Adams, many nieces and a nephew, as well as Hunter, Trevor, and Lindsey whom she adored as her own grandchildren and her two fur grand babies, Ruby and Foxy. Her brother Philip Corriveau and sister-in-law, Dale Dennis predeceased her. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody for both Rose and Hollis. Their Funeral Mass will be celebrated together on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. All attendees for wake and funeral services are required to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing as well. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St, Peabody. Donations can be made in their names to the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
