Obituary of Joseph Crupi
Joseph Crupi, 75
PEABODY--Joseph Crupi, 75, beloved husband of Lena (Dinolfo) Crupi of Topsfield, formerly of Peabody many years, died at the Essex Park Rehab & Nursing of Beverly following a lengthy illness.
Born in Messina, Italy, he was the son of the late Giovanni & Grace (Crisafalli) Crupi. He lived there for 11 years, then in AFrica for 10 years before emigrating to the United States, settling in East Boston. Following several years in Cambridge, he moved to Peabody where he lived for the last 43years, living in Topsfield for about a year.
Mr. Crupi was a Machinist for many years. He was employed for 13 years at Sylvania, and then 21 years with Microwave Engineering in North Andover before retiring about 10 years ago.
He enjoyed many sports, especially soccer, baseball and golf. He enjoyed gardening, puttering around the house, and he especially adored his role as loving grandfather with the young children.
He is survived by: his wife, Lena (Dinolfo) Crupi of Topsfield, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage; two sons, John Crupi of Topsfield and Vince Crupi of Ashland; one daughter, Graceann Ross of Peabody; five grandchildren, Joseph, Michael & Nicholas Crupi of AShland and Vanessa & Taylor Ross of Peabody; one brother, Antonio Crupi of Tewksbury; three sisters, Catherine Ranieri of Tewksbury, Ada Ranieri of Medford, and Josie Cammarota of FL, and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
