Obituary of Laurelle Baron Parrotta

Laurelle Baron Parrotta, of Waltham, formerly of Andover and Peabody, passed away peacefully on August 3rd. Born in Lynn on July 31st, 1924, the daughter of Amedee and Elmire (Drolet) Baron, Laurelle grew up in in Lynn and Revere, and graduated from Rivier College in Nashua NH with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1946. While attending graduate school, she met her beloved husband, Ralph P. Parrotta whom she married in 1948. Throughout most of the 1950s, 60s and 70s, while Ralph was a professor at Merrimack College, they resided in Andover raising their family, also finding time to volunteer in the community. Laurelle was an important part of so many people’s lives, devoted to her family and friends, patiently and generously providing support and encouragement to those in her extended family, her many friends, and neighbors throughout her long and rich life. She was well known, and loved, for her vivacity, kindness and her wonderful sense of humor, which carried her and so many others through life’s ups and downs until the very end. She was also a devout Catholic throughout her life and, in her later years, was a member of the Order of Discalced Carmelites in Peabody MA. Laurelle was predeceased by her husband Ralph and her eldest son Paul. She is survived by her daughter Anne and her husband Italo Rinaldi of Passignano, Italy, her sons Marc of Chelmsford MA, John and his wife Nalini of Falls Church VA; Dian Parrotta, Nancy Parrotta; five grandchildren – Aldo Rinaldi and his wife Dalia, Emile, Emir, Priya and Joseph, two great-grandchildren – Rafael and Flora Rinaldi; her sisters- and brothers-in-law John and Rosemarie Pasquale of Andover MA and Frank and Annette Dardano of Somerville; her first cousin Regina Boisclair of Hingham MA and many other beloved Baron family cousins; nieces and nephews Anne Bloomer, Janice Wilk, Lisa, John, Linda and David Pasquale, and their families. The family would like to thank all the staff at Benchmark Senior Living at Waltham Crossings for their care and attention to our mother these past, and most difficult months. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 8th, 11:30 AM, at the Conway Cahill-Broder Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. This will be followed directly by procession, to internment, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. All attendees are required to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing as well.
