Obituary of Peter F. Plastino

Peabody – Peter F. Plastino 83, beloved husband of Ann M. (DeLeire) Plastino, died Thursday, August 20, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Martirano, Italy, he was the son of the late Eugenio and Giovanni (Vincenzi) Plastino. He emigrated to the United States at the age of fifteen, settling in Revere before moving to Peabody in 1961 where he had since resided. Mr. Plastino had been employed for thirty-one years as a plant operator for the South Essex Sewage District in Salem until the time of his retirement. Peter dedicated his life to providing for his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, with whom he shared sixty-one years of marriage, he is survived by his daughter, JoAnne Brothers and her husband Donald of Peabody, a son, Gene Plastino and his wife Beth of Groveland, four grandchildren, Kelly Rooney and her husband Tom of Amesbury, Samantha Plastino of Salem and Bryanna and Taylor Brothers, both of Peabody, a great-granddaughter Ophelia Sue, a son-in-law, Robert Meehan of Danvers, a sister, Frances Coccimiglio of Revere and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Cathy Meehan. His funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Burial in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service on Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. All attendees are required to wear mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
