Obituary of Mary (Kaldes) Kirlis

Mrs. Mary (Kaldes) Kirlis, 87, of Peabody died peacefully Wednesday at her home surrounded by her family after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Peter Kirlis. She was born in Lowell, Ma on March 18, 1919, the daughter of the late Charles and Stella (Lalikos) Kaldes and had resided in Peabody for the past 85 years. She enjoyed doing knitting and crocheting and loved to cook. She was a member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church. Mary was a stay at home mother who raised her family. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Roberta Kirlis of Plaistow,NH, two daughters and sons-in-law, Eva and John Galvin of Peabody and Stella and Bob Bellerose of Plaistow, NH, a sister and brother-in-law, Jennie and Henry Bresnahan of Salem , 6 grandchidren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the sister of the late Anthony and Prokopes Kaldes. A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the new 82 Lynn St. Peabody location. Her Funeral will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by Services in St. Vasilios Greek Church, Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923 in her memory.
