Obituary of Jean M. MacNeil

Jean M. (Bowman) MacNeil, 79 of Swampscott, died peacefully Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the Pilgrim House Nursing Center, Peabody. She was the devoted wife of the late William T. MacNeil who died in 2007. Jean was born in Boston, MA on December 6, 1940, the daughter of the late Christopher and Catherine (Coughlin) Bowman and was raised and educated in the Mission Hill Section of Boston before moving to Revere and later to Swampscott. She had worked in the textile industry as a seamstress prior to her marriage and also enjoyed doing crocheting making different articles of clothing for her family. Prior to her husband’s death, Jean enjoyed going with her husband to Foxwoods and other casinos and taking many traveling trips with him. Her most precious times was cooking her favorite recipe’s and being with her family gatherings . She is survived by her thirteen children, William P. MacNeil of Swampscott, Christopher E. MacNeil, Richard P. and his wife Mary MacNeil, John R. MacNeil and his wife Kerrie and Jane E. MacNeil and her companion Thomas P. Cheffro all of Peabody, David M. MacNeil and his wife Carolyn of Salem, Kathleen P. Noonan and her husband John of Revere, Christine E. Davis and her husband Chet of Holyoke, Robin Lasco and her companion Michael Boodoo of Bridgton, ME Ryan, Amanda and Alicia MacNeil all of New Hampshire and the late Tammy Jean MacNeil ; twenty -nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, her siblings, Robert Bowman of Weymouth, Carol Amicangioli of Wellesley, Veronica Lauzon and her husband George of Georgia and the late Paul Bowman and several nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020 at 9:30 AM from the funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St., West Peabody at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, West Peabody. ALL ATTENDEES ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR FACIAL COVERINGS AND KEPP SOCIAL DISTANCES AT ALL EVENTS.
