Obituary of Ellie Bougas Anezis

Ellie Bougas Anezis of Danvers, MA passed peacefully on September 8, 2020. She was the wife of the late Charles Anezis with whom she spent fifty years of marriage. Born in Peabody, MA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Anastasi and Eugenia Nitsa (Giabana) Bougas. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School class of 1949 and attended Boston University studying Retail Marketing. Her love focused first, around her family, followed by sports and fashion. She was the captain of her HS basketball team and played golf and skied through her late 80’s. Ellie’s focus in retail marketing was driven by her love of fashion which started in HS making her own clothes. This transcended to becoming a runway model in her earlier 20’s to be followed as a personal shopper to her daughters, Lisa and Nina and, grandchildren, Alexis and Zachary. Surviving her are her daughters, Lisa Marie Anezis of Andover, and Nina Elaine Anezis and John Prudden and Grandchildren Alexis and Zachary, of Manchester-by-the-sea and John’s children Sam and Abby of Boulder Colorado, her brother Frexo and wife Irene Bougas, sister-in-laws Helen and Margie and their families all of Peabody, including nieces, nephews, their spouses and great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew…and her grandpup Eboonie. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. Services for Ellie will be Monday, September 21, 2020 at 12PM in Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, MA.
