Obituary of Brian William Phillips

Brian William Phillips, 48, of Peabody, son of Suzanne Caroll (Abbott) Phillips and the late William J. Phillips, passed unexpectedly on Monday, September 7, 2020 at his home. He was born in Lynn, MA on February 18, 1972 and was a lifelong resident of Peabody. He grew up attending the Peabody Schools and then the North Shore Consortium. The family wishes to thank everyone who worked and loved Brian during his life from the staff at NS ARC, Greater Lynn MH and Bass River Industries. Brian had resided at Billy’s Place, a residential program with Bass River for the past 15 years. We are grateful to Peter and his staff through those years as Brian worked towards growing his independence. He enjoyed earning money working at Bass River and during Covid19, he was able to work from home. He was motivated to work using his money for Diet Coke. He found joy in life going for rides, drinking coffee and spending time with his family. He had been a special Olympian. In his earlier years, he loved Horseback Riding, swimming and riding on the back of his brother’s motorcycle. He did not like conflict and would act as a peace keeper. In addition to his mother, Brian is survived by his niece, Heather and her partner Chris Silvestrone. Heather loved him more than words could express and is deeply upset that he was called home so soon. She loved sitting on his laps and reading books when she was younger. Brian was the last piece she had from her Grandfather and father. Heather’s Mom, Cindy Manson, her partner Phillip Poor, their daughter, Haily; his great Aunt and Uncle, Joan and Paul Pawuk of Six Mile Run, PA and and Billee and Gary McCavitt of Wood, PA and numerous cousins. They shared a special love; Brian's uncle Ronny , Auntie Rose and their daughters, Jessica, Erika and Heidi and their families, and also survived by his Bass River housemates and family. Brian will be joining many loved ones in heaven.
