Obituary of Willard James Mason

Willard Mason of Peabody, beloved husband of Concetta (Riconscente) Mason, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2020. Born in Revere, he was the son of the late Ellis and Marion (Hooton) Mason. He was raised in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School. Willard had been employed for thirty-three years at Harvard University until the time of his retirement. A long-time resident of Peabody, Willard was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 97 in Everett, and a fourth-degree member of the St. Pius General Assembly Knights of Columbus in Wakefield, for 58 years. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In addition to his wife with whom he shared 66 years of marriage, he is survived by his daughter, Nancy Martiniello and her husband Ronald of Wilmington, two sons; Stephen Mason and his wife Robin of Wilmington and Robert Mason of Peabody, his grandchildren; Peter Mason, Lorenzo Mason, Gilliane Melvin and her husband Chris, Jennifer Mason, Courtney Rose Johnson, Julie Marie Carapellucci and her husband Richard, Danielle Nicole Stanford and her husband Anthony, Brian Martiniello, Lisa Cox and her husband Matthew, Adam Martiniello, Cory Mason, and Stefany Mason, 14 great grandchildren, and two brothers; Arthur Mason, Kenneth Mason and his wife Marie. Along with his parents, Willard is predeceased by two brothers: Lawrence Mason and his wife Adrienne, Donald Mason and his wife Pauline, and his sister-in-law, Elaine. Visiting hours will be held at the Conway Cahill- Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody MA. on Monday, September 14, from 4-8 P.M.All attendees are required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 15, at St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St. Peabody, at 10:30 A.M. Followed by burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden MA.
