Obituary of Armand J LeBlanc

Armand J. LeBlanc, 76, of Peabody, died Sunday afternoon at Salem Hospital after battling a 16 year illness with ALS and Cancer. He was the devoted husband of Claire M (Boudreau) LeBlanc with whom he shared over 53 years of marriage. Born in Cormier’s Cove, New Brunswick, Canada, he was the son of the late Theophile and Marie (Leger) Leblanc. He was raised and educated in Canada and then at the age of 20, moved to the United States and settled in Lynn. He has lived in Peabody for the past 43 years. Armand was a veteran of the Vietnam War who served for three years before his honorable discharge in 1968. While serving with the United States Army, he received his High School Diploma in 1967. Following his discharged, Armand attended North Shore Community College in Lynn for a few years and then was employed by American Airlines as a ground mechanic and retired after 37 years of Service Armand enjoyed working with his hands and was always fixing or building something in and around his home. Upon his retirement, Armand enjoyed making pens out of wood and stone, he enjoyed giving them to family and friends. Also, it is believed that he has a pen in every state, every province in Canada, and in 14 other countries as well. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his son Armand LeBlanc and his long- time companion Sharon Carney and her children, Chris, Caitlyn, and Meghan Carney, all of Peabody, his daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Paul Bettencourt of Danvers, his brothers, Clovis and Robert LeBlanc, both of New Brunswick, Canada, his three sisters, Rosa Robichaud and Andrea Richard, both of New Brunswick, Canada, and Georgette King of Ontario, Canada, his beloved 2 grandchildren, Juliana and John Bettencourt and by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Paul LeBlanc, and his two brothers, Leo and Francis LeBlanc Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Funeral and Burial services will be private. All attendees are required to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing as well.
