Obituary of Richard T. Levasseur

Richard T. Levasseur Sr., 87, of Peabody, died Friday on October 2, 2020 at the Twin Oaks Nursing Center, Danvers after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline (Grenier) Levasseur. He was born in Salem, MA on March 18, 1933, the son of the late Benjamin and Mabel (McCartney) Levasseur and was raised and attended Schools in Salem before moving to Peabody. He had been a machinist at the Sunburst Fruit Juices of Salem for 42 years prior to his retirement. Richard enjoyed the outdoors and did a lot of hunting and fishing in the North Shore. He was very clever with his hands doing carpentry and remodeled his home in Peabody by himself. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially the New England Patriots. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kikki and Perry Lewis of Lynn, MA, his five grandchildren, Shawn and Cody Walsh, Justin, Brandon and Devin Lewis, his sisters, Priscilla Smagula and Patricia Zito and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Richard T. Levasseur and the brother of the late Robert, Herbert, Frederick, James, and Paul Levasseur. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 3:00 until 5:00 PM followed by Services at 5:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility.
