Obituary of Edward F. Rudnicki

Peabody - Edward Francis Rudnicki, Jr. died at age 85 on October 8, 2020, peacefully at home. Devoted husband of Carol (Sommers) Rudnicki with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Father of James Rudnicki and Lynne Rudnicki, brother in-law to Kathleen and Jeanette Rudnicki and nieces and nephew; Michelle, Elizabeth and Thomas. He was the brother of the late of Helen, Joseph and Richard Rudnicki. Born April 13, 1935 in Boston, MA, he moved to Peabody in 1963, a few years after his marriage to Carol in September 1960. He was educated in Boston schools before earning an engineering BS from Northeastern University. Edward was employed by Boston Edison Company for 42 years as an Electrical/Computer Science Engineer before retiring in June 1995. He served as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the United States Reserves from 1953-1957 and as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army Signal Corps with two separate enlistments including the Vietnam and Cuban crisis. Edward was a Massachusetts Registered Professional Engineer and a member of many professional groups. He was very active in the Fairtown Squares Dance Club and the Boy Scouts for several years. His funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923 or the charity of one's choice.
