Obituary of Janice "Kitchie" (Puleo) Paras

Janice “Kitchie” (Puleo) Paras, 63, of Peabody, died early Saturday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by her family after a two year long courageous battle with cancer. She was the former wife of the late Robert Paras. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Veronica (Lastih) Puleo. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody, attended Peabody Public Schools and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1961. She was a bookkeeper at the former George Peabody Co-operative Bank in Peabody. She also worked for many years as waitress at the Century House and Wardhurst Restaurant until her illness. She was recently working with her friends and family at the Power Fit Gym in Peabody She is survived by two sons, Dan and Dave Paras, a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Coigley, and her beloved granddaughter, Emily Veronica Paras, all of Peabody, two brothers, Peter Puleo of Peabody and Joseph Puleo of Marblehead, a sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and George Smyrnios of Peabody, her nephews, Michael and Kim Smyrnios, Steven and Sondra Smyrnios and baby Kye, Peter and Crystal Smyrnios, and Peter Puleo, her aunt and uncle, Anne and Horace Dupar and her life long friends, Dolores, Ann, Donna, Janice, Bertie, Rose, Marty, and Jay and Sue McLaughlin. She also leaves behind many other friends. The family would like to say thank you to everyone for thier caring and support through this difficult time, and all are deeply appreciated. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Following the Service on Wednesday, burial will be private. If friends should desire, donations can be made in her name to the NSCC, 17 Centennial Dr., Peabody, Ma 01960.
