Obituary of Manuel C. Pereira

Manuel C. Pereira, 57, of Peabody, died suddenly at the Lahey Clinic in Peabody after being stricken at home. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Terra) Pereira with whom he shared over 37 years of marriage. Born in Pico, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of Adelaide (Rosa) Pereira of Peabody and the late Manuel Pereira. He was raised and educated in Portugal and has been living in Peabody for over 25 years. While living in Portugal, he was a member of the Portuguese Army in Angola. While in Peabody, he was a heavy equipment machine operator who worked for several construction companies on the North Shore before retiring. He enjoyed wine making and gardening. He also was a very generous person who enjoyed giving to all his family and friends here and in Portugal. Besides his loving wife, Maria, he is survived by his two loving sons and daughters-in-law, Emanuel and Linda Pereira of Peabody and Leonel and Luisa Pereira of Kensington, NH, his siblings, Carlos, Rugerio, Hermijildo, Loudres, and Geraldina, his adoring grandchildren, Amanda, Brianna, Emanuel Jr., Trevor, Anthony, Lance, and Jeremy Pereira, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Facility, followed by e Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem
