Obituary of Barbara E. Phillips

Portsmouth, NH – Barbara E. (Ruotolo) Phillips 65, formerly of Peabody, died Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Gormalley) Ruotolo. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School. She continued her education, earning an Associates degree from North Shore Community College. Barbara had resided in Peabody for most of her life prior to moving to Portsmouth, NH two years ago. She had a great love for dogs and always had a pet dog in her life going back to her early childhood. She adored her grandson and the highlight of her day was seeing him or speaking to him on the phone. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her son, Shawn Phillips and his wife, Shannon of Beverly, her grandson, Zackary Phillips, two sisters, Patricia Hulbert and her husband, Don of Salisbury and Karen Holmes of Salem, a brother, Paul Ruotolo and his wife, Jane of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
