Obituary of Dolores M Green

Dolores M (Kosidlo) Green of Peabody died peacefully Friday December 4 surrounded by her family at her home following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Russell T. Green, Jr. and daughter of the late Joseph and Celia R. (Butinski) Kosidlo. Born in Olean, NY in 1938, Dolores graduated from Olean High School in 1956. She married Russell T. Green Jr. in 1963, and the couple set off in a blue convertible Corvair to start their life together. Dad’s service with the United States Marine Corps guided their early travels and experiences. Many fond memories were made in Seabrook, NH, where the “girls from upcountry” would remain lifelong friends even after Dolores settled in Peabody, MA, where she raised a family, built a business, and lived for 54 years. She will be dearly missed by family and many true friends in Peabody, the Boston area, and Olean, NY. Dolores was a loving parent, who through example taught her children that a generous nature will always get you off on the right foot. To her grandchildren Lucy, Nat, and Rowan she was “Grandma G”, and her Christmastime visits to Michigan and Wisconsin are legendary. Genuine and kind, the many friends she made remained so for life. Anyone that needed it would find an interested listener and support given effortlessly and unconditionally. Without fanfare, mom quietly held family together because she was the best of us. She is survived by her son Russell T. Green III and his wife Catherine M (Fach) Green of Sheboygan, WI and her daughter Amanda E Green of Peabody, MA and Homeland, CA, her sister Carol C Kosidlo of Olean, NY and by her beloved three grandchildren, Nathanael T., Rowan D., and Lucy B. Green all of Sheboygan, WI. Besides her loving husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Barbara Kosidlo and Joseph W. Kosidlo, Jr. A private graveside service was held on Tuesday at the family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lynn. Expressions of sympathy can be made in her name to the Peabody Council on Aging, 75 R Central St, Peabody, MA 01960.
