Obituary of Frances Manning

Frances Manning, 82, of Peabody, passed away peacefully Monday, December 7, 2020 at her nieces’ home with Kathy by her side. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late John F and Katherine (Dunn) Manning. Frances was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1956. She had numerous jobs during her lifetime, working at Cannon Electric, Sylvania and office manager and treasurer at South Essex Sewerage, followed by many years with NYNEX then Verizon before her retirement. During many of those years Frances also maintained her hair dressing license. Frances cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially loving all the holidays when the family was all together. Frances really enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and Sudoku and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy as well. Frances also felt so blessed to have many special years with her beautiful dog “Kayla.” Frances is survived by her niece, Kathy A Carlson-Smith and her late husband William C Smith, her nephews, Eric J. Carlson and Amy Caldwell of Milton, VT, Robert Gibbs and his wife Cheryl of Salem, NH, Kenneth Gibbs and his wife Marie of Beverly, MA, Michael Gibbs and his wife Becky of Dover, NH and is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, Kelsey and Cody Carlson, Tyler and Hannah Carlson, Patricia, Sarah and Abby Gibbs, and her great-great nieces and nephews Jacob, Matthew and McKenzie and by her lifelong friends Gerald and Ellen Morse. Frances is predeceased by her two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sarah A. and Harold C. Carlson and Helen and Robert Gibbs. She is also predeceased by her 2 nephews Mark C. Carlson and Gary J. Gibbs. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 6:00 PM. All attendees are required to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing as well. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
