Obituary of Dorothy M Mahoney

Dorothy M (Simard) Mahoney, 81 of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died early Monday morning at Salem Hospital following a courageous battle against cancer. She was the devoted wife of William E Mahoney with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Gerard and Dorothy (Moholland) Simard. She was raised and educated in Lynn and upon marrying her husband, moved to Peabody where she has lived for over 50 years. Dorothy was a member of the Peabody Elks and the Moose Lodge in Salem as well. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Ruthann Greene and her companion Raymond Armstrong of Peabody and Marylyn Mahoney and her companion, Timothy Lawrence of Gloucester, her brother, Stanley and his wife Diana Simard of AZ, and is also survived by her beloved three grandchildren, Tyler, Danielle, and Michelle and by her 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Jerry and Donald Simard. Due to the corona virus all services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the American Lung Association, 188 Needham St, Newton, MA 02464.
