Obituary of Horace W. Dupar
Horace W. Dupar, 90,a lifelong resident of Marblehead, died early Thursday morning at the Shaughnessy-Kaplan Hospital in Salem after a short illness. Son of the late Harry and Mildred Dupar, he was born in Marblehead on March 11, 1916. He was a graduate of Marblehead High School, Class of 1934, and was proud of his ancestry, living all his life in Marblehead.
He was first employed as a supervisor of routes for the former Salem Laundry Company. Later he worked at the Salem Five Savings Bank rising to Assistant Treasurer and Bank Manager prior to his retirement.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed Bowling and Golfing. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage with his wife, Anne.
He is survived by his wife Anne (Lastih) Dupar with whom he shared 64 years of marriage, a sister, Phyllis Cornish of Utah, his nieces, nephews and their spouses, Meredith and William Goddard of Marblehead, Barbara and Lyman Smith of NH, Caryle and John Brubaker of Utah, JoAnn and George Smyrnios and Peter Puleo all of Peabody, Linda and Denis Dickenson, Donna and Tim Polychronis and Sandy Charros all of NH, his loving friends, Fiona and Geoffrey Lubbock and their children and Horace's surrogate grandchildren, Francesca and Carolyn Lubbock, and several grand nieces and grand nephews. He was the brother of the late Eleanore Woodfin and Beryl Barry and uncle of the late Janice Paras.
A Private family Service will be held at a later date. Those who prefer may make donations to the charity of their choice in his memory.
