Maryann (Orio) Fahlstrom
RowleyMaryann (Orio) Fahlstrom, 80, wife wife of the late Kenneth Fahlstrom, died Thursday evening at the Hunt Nursing & Retirement Home following a brief illness.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Francisco “Frank”and Maria “Mary” (Caruso) Orio. She lived in Revere as a young girl, and attended schools there. She lived in East Boston for many years, lived several years in Rowley before moving to Danvers a short time ago.
She worked as a Home Health Aide in the North End for many years.
Mrs. Fahlstrom enjoyed gardening, and followed in the green thumb talents of her father by creating Rose Arbor Trellis gates for her gardens. She also loved cooking and family gatherings, and was fluent in several Italian dialects which served her well in her career helping people, and maintained her spirit of feistiness through her illness.
She will be dearly missed by all, and her family includes: a daughter and son-in-law, Karen & John McLaughlin of Peabody; her three grandchildren, Holly McLaughlin, Jonathan McLaughlin, and Ryan McLaughlin all of Peabody; three sisters, Carmella Spolsino of East Boston, Jean Cowhig of Chelsea, and Ann Scarfo of Peabody, and survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Mary (Caruso) Orio, and brothers Anthony, Peter, and John Orio.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in ST. John’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
A visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 P.M.
Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
