Obituary of David Foley

David T. “Terry” Foley, 87, of Peabody died peacefully on Christmas Day, December 25, 2020 at the Beverly Hospital with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of MaryEllen (Collins) Foley with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. David was born in Beverly on June 3, 1933, the son of the late Arthur and Susan (Dennis) Foley and was raised , educated and resided in Beverly before moving to Peabody. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving 4 years in the US Air Force prior to his discharge in 1954. He then became a Salesman in the Leather industry on the North Shore and later was a salesman in the pharmaceutical industry with the Baxter Chemical Co. of Peabody prior to his retirement. David enjoyed playing golf at the Lake View golf course in Wenham and also belonged the to Paul Lydon Swimming Complex in Danvers for twenty two years. He had been a member of the Beverly Legion Post. He is survived by his wife, MaryEllen of Peabody, a son David Foley of Salem, three daughters, Deborah Bouffard of Salem, Laurie and her husband Robert Greives of Peabody and the late Sandra Brennan, a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Dora Foley of Florida, a sister and brother-in-law, Judith and Robert Brown of Groveland, a brother-in-law, Edward Collins and his wife Rita and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem, MA at 11:00 AM. To Those who are attending, please wear masks and practice social distancing at the Service. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home of Peabody. l
