Obituary of Vinnie Parente

Peabody – Vincent A. “Vinnie” Parente 87, husband of the late Doris (Goddess) Parente, died Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Serena (Bertuccio) Parente. He received his education in the Salem school system and graduated from Salem High School. An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army. Mr. Parente had owned and operated Parente Insurance Company on Lynn St., in Peabody for twenty-nine years until the time of his retirement in 2004. As a young man he delivered milk for various companies for many years. A longtime resident and business owner in Peabody, Mr. Parente enjoyed helping those in need. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas and the Caribbean. He also loved playing cards especially gin with his friends and going to the casinos. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. Surviving him are three daughters, Paula Scherzinger and her husband, Werner of Peabody, Linda Parente and her fiancé, John Gaudet of Londonderry, NH and Jo-Ann Parente of Peabody, a son, Larry Parente and his wife, Pamela of Peabody, nine grandchildren, Daniel, William, Andrew and Michael Parente, Kelsey and Kasey Scherzinger, Amanda Deveau, Jason Seidman and Laura Cohen, eleven great grandchildren and his loyal and loving pet dog, “Abby”. He was also the brother of the late Marie Laro. His memorial service will be announced at a later date by the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St, Boston, MA 02114.
