Obituary of Peter Sarowsky

Peter Sarowsky, 85, of Peabody, died early Tuesday morning at the Beverly Hospital after short illness. He was the husband of Helen (Gonsiorowski) Sarowsky with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. Born in Chelsea, son of the late John and Anna (Humenna) Sarowsky, he had resided in Peabody most of his life. He had been employed with the First National Stores Food Chain for 48 years working the Northeastern area stores of Peabody, Salem, Reading and Lynn prior to his retirement as Assistant Manager in 1970. He enjoyed playing sports and was active in baseball and later in Golf . Surviving him besides his wife are a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kim Sarowsky of Harwich, Ma., a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Charles Coviello of Derry, N.H., 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Walter Sarowsky of Peabody and Stephen and Barbara Sarowsky of Newburyport, Ma., 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Amelia and Al Leger of Peabody and Ann Calman of Davie, Fl., 5 grandchildren, Col. Peter Sands, U.S.A.F. of Omaha, Nebraska, Lynne Martinuk of Danvers, Ma., Christopher, Maria and Louis Sarowsky all of Dennisport, Ma., 3 great grandchildren, Thomas and Jill Martinuk Of Danvers and Joshua Sands of Omaha, Ne., and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Paul and John Sarowsky, Olga Eagan and Mary Kingsley. His Funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Beverly Hospital, Oncology Unit, 85 Herrick St., Beverly Ma. 01915 in his memory.
