Obituary of Dominic J. Mazzio

Dominic J. Mazzio, 94, of Peabody, passed away Friday, January 8. He was the beloved husband of Florence (Mastrocola) Mazzio for 61 years. He was the devoted father of Robert Mazzio and his wife Kathleen of Dedham, and Paula Mazzio of Peabody. He was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph Mazzio, James Mazzio, Michael Mazzio, Mary Palano, Rose Cadden, and Anthony Mazzio. Dominic was born in Boston, MA on February 23, 1926, son of the late Antonio and Josephine (Tarantino) Mazzio. He was raised in East Boston and graduated from Boston English High, Class of 1943. In World War II, he served in the United States Navy as a radioman and 2nd Class Petty Officer in the Pacific. He then graduated from Burdett College in 1950. He also served in the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an auditor for the City of Everett. Before that, he was an auditor for the State of Massachusetts. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working in and around his home, and watching old movies. He will be missed by his family. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, services for Dominic will be held privately.
