Obituary of David J Sullivan
David J. Sullivan of Peabody, MA passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the age of 81. He died peacefully after a battle with Covid-19.
Dave was born on January 17, 1939 in Pittsburgh, PA and was the son of the late John and Dolores (Faust) Sullivan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother John Sullivan and his sister Edith Sullivan Tkach.
Dave is survived by his devoted wife Terry (Salovitch) Sullivan; children Mark Sullivan, Beth (William) Broderick, David (Melissa) Sullivan and Leah Frye and step-children Ian Patria and Emma Patria. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jack and Molly Sullivan, James and Emily Broderick, Liam Sullivan, Cullen and Marcela Ladewig, and Alex Frye. He raised his family in Erie, PA. After a distinguished career of 45 years, he retired to Peabody, MA with his beloved wife Terry.
Dave earned his PhD in clinical psychology at Duquesne University in 1963. He was a captain in the U.S. Army, serving as a psychologist in Viet Nam. He then worked in private practice first at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA and then at Psychology Associates of Greater Erie. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and a proud grandfather.
