Johnny Bocchino’s son Joseph sending condolences. Bev will be missed and our prayers go out to her and the whole family ... the whole Troisi gang. What I remember always is Saturday mornings. Jimmy underneath a car in the driveway, and Bev serving coffee and what have you inside. If it was lunch time, you got lunch. She was always wonderful, and that is a tall order being married into the Troisi clan.
When she was on her game, she remembered all the names. I was just a cousins son, but she knew my kids names and funny ... I admired that. Later when I played golf with young Joe Troisi (we have a lot of Joes and Johns between the Troisi’s and the Bocchinos) it was like we never missed a beat talking family despite not seeing each for many, too many, months at a time. Bev was part of that upbringing.
My heart goes out to the family. Joe Bocchino.

Ma
Ma was always there for us. Our younger years, Ma would make our school lunches and stand on the porch as the neighborhood kids would walk as a group to school. The first day each year, she would get a photo of the group in front of our house. She would spend her days cleaning the house or going shopping with Barbara Cote. At Christmas time the shopping friendship was obvious because Santa would bring the same items to the Cote kids as the Troisi kids. Ma spent many years helping our Dad disguise as Santa. She kept us believing, by having Santa (Dad) show up and stay with us as we played with the toys he brought. Only Jeanine and I would get the most wanted gift for Little Christmas such as my big wheel or Jeanine’s Barbie House, the same gifts the Cote kids got weeks before. As we got older, Ma would develop friendships with other parents from elementary school. It was at Tracey School where she met Jean Soper and Cathy Piepiora (became known as CP). CP and Ma would soon become inseparable best friends. Their friendship would lead to many years of memories and great events. Their group would grow to include Aunt Kathy, Jean Gallo, their husbands, and their siblings. This would bond our families in a close network filled with laughter, tears, and but most of all LOVE. Ma found her circle and soon mutual interests with these ladies. They would spend nights bowling, going to bingo, playing cards, shopping, or going to each other’s home for company. The families would bond and share holidays or just meet up for dinner. Speaking of dinner, the one meal Jeanine and I would always complain about was steak. Every time we would say with disappointment. “steak again!”. Of course, we would chuckle and Ma would also. One night, Dad, mom, Jeanine and I were sitting down for steak dinner. (Steak again!!). Jeanine asked for the A1 steak sauce, which was on the table. As I passed it to her she began to shake it vigorously. Unbeknownst to her the cap was loose. As she continued to shake, the cap fell off and sauce continued to splash onto Ma. This continued for a few shakes. Ma was displeased and visually upset. However, we all were laughing hysterically in tears! Ma took it well and began to ask Jeanine why she didn’t check the cap first. It was funny!!
Ma was not just a loving wife and mother. Ma would see her mother, Nana, and our grandparents, Poppy & Grandma at least once a week to take them grocery shopping or on errands. She was always considerate and helpful. Ma insisted we visit our grandparents each Sunday for dinner and family time. We would see her many relatives that called her Auntie Bebo.
Family was important.
As the years went on, she decided to get a job during school hours so she may continue to care for her family. She would work at Good Luck Farms as a service clerk. These were fun years, not just for her, but for Jeanine and I. We also got jobs there.
We were fortunate to be able to spend more time with Ma and strengthen our relationship. Here we also developed many new friendships. Many employees were school age and most of neighborhood would become employees. Ma would sit for lunch, or cup of coffee and share some laughs or maybe some parental advise. Ma would soon become a matriarch and she was called Ma by all. Ma was a kind, pleasant individual who had a great sense of humor. She was fun to be with.
On Saturdays, Ma would be home and entertain friends that would come over to get their cars repaired by Dad.
Ma would have her favorite music playing as she danced and sang as she was cleaning our home. She would make coffee, sandwiches, and talk with company. Laughter would also be heard. It was a social event every weekend.
As the years past, I would marry Alice, Jeanine would marry Jim, and our family would grow. As the grandchildren arrived: Kat, Mad, Liz, Kevin, she would become known as Grandma. Ma found her new passion. She would do anything for her grandkids. Grandma would go to every school event, dance recital, Boys Scout event, church event, fundraisers and sports event. Grandma would go Christmas shopping at 4am to get the special toy that was ultra-popular. She would pick the grandchildren up from school. She would take them out for lunch. You could see the joy on her face. Ashley, Missy, Charlotte, and Heather would soon be calling her Grandma B. She enjoyed having additional grandchildren. Family is important.
Bev, Ma, Auntie Bebo, Grandma, G Bev, you were always there and you will always remain in our hearts. You will forever be Dad’s Angel. We miss you and Love you!
