Obituary of William M. Tambini

William M. “Bill” Tambini, 83, of Peabody, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances X (King) Tambini. William "Bill" was born in Somerville, September 9, 1937, son of Francis and Mabelle (Benway) Tambini. He grew up in Peabody and was a 1955 graduate of Peabody Vocational High School. Directly after graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force, an experience he was proud of and enjoyed. Post service, he studied acting in New York City and followed that with a "give it a go" in California. Fate brought him back to Massachusetts, where he met the love of his life, Frances. They married and settled in Peabody, raising their five children. Bill was the bartender with personality and charm. He was also a talented award-winning artist and was well known throughout the local art community. A man of strong faith, he left to join Frances, his wife of 55 years, who passed away in December. Sadly missed and forever in our hearts, he is survived by his children, Desiree & her husband Dave McBride of St Paul, MN, Lori & her husband Peter Schultz of Tewksbury, MA, Bill Gaffney of Peabody, MA, Michael & his wife Alida Tambini of Havre de Grace, MD, and James Gaffney of Cambridge, MA. He is also survived by loving brother, Frank & his wife Marion Tambini, and grandchildren Mary, John and Brendan McBride, Michael and Marcella Tambini, and great grandchildren Angelo and Liliana Tambini. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, and his Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 12:30 PM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. All attendees are required to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing as well. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
