Obituary of Thomas S Loughlin

Thomas S. Loughlin, 90, beloved husband of Mary (Lowery) Loughlin with whom he shared 70 years of marriage, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Hunt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Danvers. Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Thomas and Esther (Brophy) Loughlin. He received his education from St. Mary’s Boys High School. Thomas had lived in Peabody for over 60 years. Mr. Loughlin had been employed at A&P grocery store, where he worked as an assistant manger for 34 years, and then until his retirement, as an auditor for the state of Massachusetts. Thomas loved his home and will be remembered for his “Irish wit”. Above all else, he was a true family man who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons; Steven Loughlin and his wife Helen of Lynnfield and John Loughlin of Salem and his companion, Carol Quirion; five grandchildren, Karen, Kevin, Amanda Skinner and her husband Derek, Brenden, and Christine; and two great grandchildren, Hailey and Cameron. A committal service will be held at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St, Peabody, MA 01960, on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. All attendees are required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to The American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
