Obituary of Helen "Margo" Colby

After a brief illness Helen ‘Margo’ Colby passed away at home peacefully surrounded by her family. Margo was a bright light who touched all who got the privilege to know her. Her smile could brighten any day and she was always up for a good joke or participation in some sarcastic banter. Margo was an active member of the Salem community and enjoyed day trips, dinners out, vacations and a good iced coffee. She was blessed to have many friends at the Northeast Arc, especially the woman and staff at Peabody House where she often visited to enjoy dance parties, arts and crafts and celebrations all throughout the year. Margo got the opportunity to become part of a special family later in her life and she leaves behind Katie, Donald (PJ), Sophie Gauthier and Calvin, Chelsi and Paityn Martell who loved her so much and welcomed her into their family with open arms. Margo had the opportunity to meet so many new friends and family and even put up with Spotty and Bandit barking all day. They will miss her dearly but will always smile when remembering the many ‘Margoisms’ they came to expect every day. Following cremation, a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. All attendees are required to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing as well.
